When the insurance company says No – NaVella turns it around

The Challenge

A high-net-worth family in Massachusetts found themselves in a pickle. During COVID their 8lb cockapoo bit a man hired to retile a bathroom. After completing the job, the man retained a personal injury attorney and sued. As a result, client was non-renewed by their homeowner insurance, and the claim remained open for 2 years until it settled for $3K. Because their insurance company non-renewed their insurance and because there was an open claim, they had to go to a substandard insurance company that cost 8X more. Additionally, this insurance company excluded canine liability because of prior dog bite claim.

Building Blocks

Their prior agent did not have knowledge or expertise of the high-value insurance space (due to no fault of their own). Nadeen stepped in and advocated and negotiated on behalf of her client. She was able to secure coverage with a high-value home carrier (PURE).

Result

The case highlighted the importance of technical expertise and understanding of the high-value insurance space. Not only did the client get better coverage with reduced cost, but she was also able to have her client’s dog, Charlie, insured again by completing a canine training program.
